Background

Getting started with R and reproducible reporting can be a barrier for newcomers who have little or no prior programming experience. This introductory workshop was designed to give participants a gentle, practical first step into R and Quarto, so they can produce clean, reproducible reports from their own analyses.

Approach

The session is a hands-on, introductory walkthrough that builds a first Quarto document from the ground up. Participants learn the basics of writing and running R code within a Quarto report, and how to render the same document to HTML, Word, and PDF outputs. Audience, venue, and further curriculum detail are to be confirmed.

What we found

  • Participants gain basic familiarity with writing and running R code in a Quarto document.
  • Exposure to the reproducible-reporting workflow from source to rendered output.
  • Practice rendering a single document to multiple formats (HTML, Word, PDF).

Outputs & impact

  • A worked “My First Quarto Document” example produced during the session.
  • Delivery details (venue, date, audience) are to be confirmed.
